PCBWay sponsors the p18clock project

Some weeks ago, I got contacted by Emily from PCBWay in order to start a sponsorship for the p18clock project. This was really awesome news! So… after coming back from the last business trip that I had in June –ISO C++ / WG21 meeting in Brno, CZ–, I could finally move this collaboration forward.

The interaction with them has been very pleasant and straightforward (thanks, Emily!). They very kindly offered to produce a batch (x20) of p18clock PCBs for this first collaboration, covering also the shipping costs. This included both, the main and secondary printed circuit boards.

I have to say that this exceeded my expectations by far! No time to lose – I re-created the Gerber production files for both PCBs (File -> Fabrication Outputs -> Gerbers (.gbr)... in KiCad PCB Editor) and sent them for fabrication (which was, again, very uncomplicated). Below, you can see the phisical boards which have been delivered today. I hope it becomes apparent from the pictures below that the product has professional quality; kudos to PCBWay!

Also, it’s worth noting that PCBWay is celebrating their 12th anniversary this month, so let’s join the celebration: Happy 12th anniversary, PCBWay :tada:! Wishing you many more years of huge success!

Finally, let me drop here that an idea is taking shape – I might start shipping p18clock as a DYI / SMD-soldering-practice kit. Please, if getting one of those kits when time comes sounds exciting, fill in this form in order to express your interest.
